Memorial University has several agreements in place that offer discounts for article processing charges.

Publisher	Discount	Note
American Chemical Society	$250 USD	CRKN has an agreement in place where MUN-affiliated authors publishing in ACS hybrid journals are eligible for a $250 USD discount. All MUN community members are eligible for the discount, which will be applied by the publisher during the submission process.
BMJ Case Reports	Free publishing	Through an institutional membership, MUN authors are able to publish cases for free. During submission, authors will be prompted to enter a fellowship code. Authors can obtain the fellowship code by contacting hslinfo@mun.ca
Cambridge University Press	Free Publishing	As of January 1, 2022, corresponding authors affiliated with MUN will be able to publish an unlimited number of articles as Open Access in Cambridge hybrid and gold journals for free throughout 2022-2024. This includes research articles, review articles, rapid communication, brief reports, and case reports.
Canadian Science Publishing	25% discount	MUN authors are eligible to publish an unlimited number of articles at no charge in the following journals: Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Canadian Journal of Physics, Canadian Journal of Physiology and Pharmacology, Genome, and Transactions of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, MUN authors are eligible to receive a 25% discount on APCs for all CSP Hybrid journals. Details can be found on the CRKN website.
The Company of Biologists	Free publishing	Through our read and publish agreement with The Company of Biologists, MUN scholars who are corresponding authors are able to publish their articles free of charge in the journals Development, Journal of Cell Science, and the Journal of Experimental Biology.
DeGruyter	Free Publishing	MUN Authors are eligible to publish in qualifying hybrid, gold open access, sponsored open access and S2O journals. For more information, please contact Kathryn Rose
Elsevier	Free Publishing /20% discount	MUN authors are eligible to receive unlimited open access publishing in more than 1,800 hybrid journals at no cost. Authors publishing in Gold Open Access journals will receive a 20% discount in 2024, a 15% discount in 2025 and 2026, and a 10% discount in 2027. IOP Publishing	Free publishing	MUN authors will be able to publish an unlimited number of their articles as open access at no cost in most IOPP hybrid and gold journals for the duration of the agreement (2022-2024). Details about which journals are included in this agreement can be found on the CRKN website.
Microbiology Society	Free publishing	Through a direct subscription, MUN authors are able to publish in each of the Microbiology Society's journals for free. More information can be found on the Microbiology Society's website.
Oxford Journals	Free/10% discount	MUN scholars are eligible for unlimited publishing in 350 of Oxfords hybrid journals. MUN affiliated authors will also receive a 10% discount with any of Oxfords Gold OA Journals. Details about which journals are included in this agreement can be found on the CRKN website.
PeerJ	Free publishing	Memorial University has an institutional account with PeerJ. The funds are limited and are available on a first come, first served basis. More details can be found on the PeerJ website.
Public Library of Science	Free publishing	MUN scholars are able to publish for free in the following PLOS journals: PLOS Biology, PLOS Climate, PLOS Computational Biology, PLOS Digital Health, PLOS Genetics, PLOS Global Public Health, PLOS Medicine, PLOS Neglected Tropical Diseases, PLOS ONE, PLOS Pathogens, PLOS Sustainability and Transformation, PLOS Water, PLOS Mental Health and PLOS Complex Systems. Royal Society of Chemistry	15% discount	MUN authors are eligible to receive a 15% discount on APCs for all RSC hybrid journals. Details about this agreement can be found on the CRKN website.
SAGE Gold Open Access Journals	40%	Instructions for authors can be found on the CRKN website.
SAGE Choice	Free Publishing	We have a "Read and Publish" deal with SAGE through CRKN that allows MUN authors the opportunity to publish in SAGE Choice journals for free. Details can be found on the CRKN website.
