10 Things Students Should Know about the Health Sciences Library (HSL): Home

Your MUN ID is your library card

1 Your MUN campus ID card is also your library card. Use it to borrow books, access reserve items, and book study rooms. You can also use it for photocopying in the library (see #4 below).

If you don't have your campus card yet, see Get Your Campus Card for instructions on getting a card in person on campus or requesting it online through my.mun.ca.

Access library resources from off-campus

3 You can access subscription library resources like databases, e-books, and e-journals from off campus. Log in using your MUN Login username and password.

If you're having trouble, click on the Can't Login link on the MUN Login page.

Find resources

5  ONESEARCH: OneSearch is the main search box on the library homepage. You can use it to find books, articles, and more. Enter your search terms to get a list of results, and then use the options on the left hand side of the screen to refine your results.

HEALTH DATABASES: For most health literature searches, you'll want to seek articles in one of our specialized health databases, such as PubMed. Our subject guides may also be a good place to start.

COURSE RESERVES: For instructions on finding reserve readings, see #8 below.
