Environmental Engineering: 10 Things to Know about the Library

Your MUN ID is your library card

1 Your MUN campus ID card is also your library card! Use it to borrow books, access reserve items, and book study rooms. You can also use it for photocopying in the library.

To get your campus card, visit:

  • St. John's campus - At the Bookstore (UC-2006)
  • Marine Institute - Registrar's Office (2106)
  • Grenfell - Student Affairs Office (AS233)
  • OR request your campus card online.

Access library resources from off-campus

3 As a student, you have off campus access to subscription library resources like databases, e-books, and journals. Log in using your MUN Login username and password.

 

Finding library resources

OneSearch is the main search box on the library homepage. You can use it to find books, articles, and more.

For more in-depth article searching, select a specialized database in your area of study using the Databases lists.

Get items your library does not own

7 Intercampus Loan is a FREE service that allows you to request to borrow items from other Memorial Libraries branches.

Document Delivery is a FREE service that allows you to request items that Memorial Libraries does not own. We will check with other libraries and suppliers and try to borrow the item(s). 

Find your space

9 All of our libraries offer personal, group and quiet study spaces. You can also find unique spaces like art galleries or technology spaces like The Commons in many locations. Find out what the spaces are available in your library.

Get connected to MUN wireless

2 On the St. John's campus, connect any device to wi-fi using your MUN login username and password.  For further assistance visit the Computing Support Desk in the Commons or the Getting Connected to Wireless page.

To access wi-fi at Grenfell, you will need to set up your Grenfell Computing Account.

 

Login to the computers & print

4 At the QEII Library, use your MUN Login to log in to library computers. Problems logging in? Visit the Computing Support Desk in the Commons.

To print, add cash to your library card (MUN ID) using the cash manager machines on level 2. You can also add money online using a credit card (minimum of $10). You're ready to print!

Renew your books online

6 Books may be renewed online unless someone else has placed a hold on them. Log in to OneSearch with your my.mun.ca username and password.

Find out how reserves work

 8 Access Course Resources(Reserves) from the library homepage. You must sign-in with your MUN login. 

This is a new system to Memorial Libraries, and detailed instructions on how to find your class resources can be found here.

All physical items are available at the Lending Services (or Circulation) Desk.  Electronic resources will include a link for direct online access.
